Announcements March 19, 2017

1. Please join us for COFFEE AND A TIME OF FELLOWSHIP after the service in the lower level of the church.

2. Please keep all in our congregation who are ill or recovering from surgery in your thoughts and prayers.

3. THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 19, we are asked to pray for the mission and ministry of the Thorndale Pastoral Charge, consisting of Thorndale and Zion United Churches. We are also asked to pray for the well-being, compassion, strength, and joy of Pamela Wilcox. Thank you for your participation in this prayer ministry.

4. A very special event called ReVITALize is being held by Middlesex Presbytery at Metropolitan U.C. on Friday and Saturday, April 21 & 22, and is open to all. Early bird registration by March 31 is $40 for the 2 days, including lunch, and $50 after that. Brochures are available at on the table at the back of the sanctuary.

5. The UNITED CHURCH OBSERVER: it's time to renew your subscription or if you are not getting it, perhaps the time is now. It's a good magazine, well worth the $25.00. See Marj Macmillan to pay your dues.

6. CAMP KEE-MO-KEE is embarking on an exciting new future and we need your help, if you are a keen naturalist, a children’s champion, a camping crusader, a thoughtful business leader, or a fantastic fundraiser. 7. FOOD BANK DONATIONS are welcome on any Sunday. Items of particular need at this time of year are school lunch snacks (granola bars, pudding & fruit cups) as well as gift cards and cash donations used to purchase fresh produce, dairy, & meat. Please find envelopes for monetary donations on the table at the back of sanctuary. These gifts can be placed in offertory plates. Foodland cash register receipts are also welcome.

8. GENTLEMEN, please sign up on the list in the lower level of the church today if you wish to be part of the group planning for our Easter Sunday Breakfast, or if you are willing to help cook and serve. The planning group will meet at 1:00 on Wednesday, March 22.

9. MARCH NEWSLETTER: Please assist us in delivering newsletters to those who are not present in church today, and who do not have e-mail. Please see Carol Reid. Thanks!

10. Please see Cathy Baskerville if you are interested in helping to drive people to church who are otherwise unable to attend. More details are provided in the newsletter.

11. BETTY KING, A MEMBER OF CALVARY UNITED CHURCH IN RODNEY, will be present at our Oyster Soup and Ham dinner, selling raffle tickets on a beautiful quilt depicting the floral emblems of the provinces and territories. This is a fundraiser for the Canadian Food Grains Bank, who we have enhanced our commitment to support. Tickets are $5.
