Announcements March 4, 2018
1. Please join us for a time of refreshments and fellowship in the
lower level of the sanctuary following the service.
2. To enrich our Worship, please note these changes to the beginning
and end of the Order of Service. The beginning of the Service will
begin as the Minister, Music Director and choir enter the sanctuary
together just before the Prelude begins at 10:00 a.m. This provides a
time for quiet reflection and preparation for worship together.
Likewise, the Postlude is a time for contemplation and prayer and only
after the postlude concludes, has the service ended.
3. Please welcome Rev. Dr. Art Hiley, recently retired
from Belmont Harrietsville-Mossley Pastoral Charge. We are fortunate to
benefit from his expertise to provide us with Pastoral Care over the
next months. He tells us that he likes to be called Pastor Art, for
short.
4. FOOD BANK DONATIONS ARE WELCOME ON ANY SUNDAY.
Items of particular need at this time are family sized canned fruit and
fruit cups for school snacks. Please note that the local food bank uses the "Best Before" date on cans and
dried goods in order to provide the freshest food for clients.
We thank you for your contributions and ask that you take a moment to
check the Best Before date on your food
donations in order to ensure a reasonable shelf life
5. The UCW of Dorchester United Church will hold the March meeting on
Wednesday, March 7th at the church at 7.30 pm. 'Plans and Hopes for the
Present and the Future.' All are welcome.
6.
TO ARRANGE A RIDE FOR SUNDAY, OR FOR ANY CHURCH EVENT, CALL CATHY
AT 519-461-1679.
7. THIS SUNDAY, MARCH 4, we are asked
to pray for the mission and ministry of the Belmont Pastoral Charge,
consisting of Belmont and Harrietsville-Mossley United Churches, and
for the well-being, compassion, strength, and joy those involved in
ministry leadership at this pastoral charge. Thank you for your
participation in this prayer ministry.
8. MEMBERSHIP SUNDAY - MARCH 11TH.
Please see Carol Reid if you wish to join the church or transfer your
membership from another church.
9. Pastor Mary Dillon will facilitate a LENTEN STUDY
