October 21 - Dorchester United Church Anniversary Service - 10 AM with lunch to follow. The UCW invites members with last names from A-L to bring squares, M-Z to bring sandwiches. Thanks for your participation. Come and enjoy the lunch and the great fellowship. DUC Games Night on Friday, October 26, 7 to 9 p.m. get unplugged with a fun evening of cards and board games from 7 to 9 pm. In addition, we invite you to bring an old or new item of interest to engage inquiring minds at our Discovery Table. All ages are welcome. Snacks and beverages available. Admission by donation. Announcements October 7, 2018 1. Please join us for a time of refreshments and fellowship in the lower level of the sanctuary following the service. 2 . Thank you to all who supported the Fashion Show on September 28th . We enjoyed some delicious desserts and very good company. The models did a wonderful job and $275 was raised for the General Church Fund. 3. This Sunday, October 7, we are asked to pray for the mission and ministry of the Melbourne Pastoral Charge, consisting of the congregations of Melbourne and North Ekfrid United Churches. Also, we pray for the well-being, compassion, strength, and joy of Rev. Richard Golden and all those involved in ministry leadership at this pastoral charge. Thank you for participating in this prayer ministry. 4. Fri, October 12 - The Visioning Working Group is partnering with UCC EDGE Network to host a Community Round Table. We have invited representatives from local service clubs, municipal leaders, non-profit organizations, schools, and social service agencies to ensure we have a rich discussion. We seek a greater understanding and appreciation of the roles that community leaders and organizations play and plan to discuss community needs and how we might work together to meet those needs, supporting one another in providing services locally. 5. The annual UCW Fall Event is being held this year on October 20th at White Oaks United Church, from 9am to 12 noon . Every one is welcome for a morning of fellowship, singing and sharing.We are asked to contribute personal items for women and children, to be distributed later to ELUCO, My Sisters' Place, Women's Community House, and others. Thank you for your thoughtful contributions. 6. Fri. Oct. 26 - Reynolds Creek United Church is hosting a Chili Supper at Hutcheson Hall, Putman, 6:00 p.m. Adults $10.00, Children $5.00.
