Announcements May 19, 2019
Please join us for a time of refreshments and fellowship in the
lower level of the sanctuary following the service.
1. WEDNESDAY MORNING COFFEE: Every Wednesday, at 10 am.
Come and catch up on the news, be a taste tester of the baking and have
many laughs. Everyone is welcome.
2. PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING UP TO GREET on a Sunday morning
on the clipboard at the rear of the church.
You are helping to make our congregation feel welcome to our
worship service. Thank you.
3. RUMMAGE AND BAKE SALE: DUC is holding
its sale on Saturday, May 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are
asking for your help in donating baked goods and clean, gently used items
for sale. It would be appreciated if you could price your items (not baking
or Jewellery). Please bring all items to the church on Thursday May 23 from
6 to 7:30 p.m. or on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Baking will be accepted
on Friday or Saturday morning. No clothing or furniture please. Please note that costume jewelry can be brought anytime
and left downstairs in the clear plastic tub on the window ledge by the
clock. We look forward to another successful sale this year. Thank you!
4. DURING THE MONTH OF MAY, the Hollands and Baskervilles
will be away from the Dorchester area and ask that any concerns or
questions regarding church matters be directed to Gabrielle or Carol Reid
or Janet Paterson. They will be happy to assist you.
5. REFUGEE FAMILY: DUC looks forward to helping the Rajeh
family when they arrive in Canada. Thank you to all who have given
donations in kind. Monetary donations to help purchase items such as new
mattresses for this family of four will be gratefully accepted into our
Refugee Fund. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we
missed the opportunity to sponsor a second refugee family under the BVOR
program.
6. FINANCE AND STEWARDSHIP: The Total Fair Market
Adjustment shown on the Balance Sheet of the Financial Reports represents
the growth to date of investments. The information on the Balance Sheet is
the best indicator of the financial position of DUC. This information is
posted with the Board Minutes in the Fellowship Hall (lower level).
