Please join us for a time of refreshments and fellowship in the
lower level of the sanctuary following the service.
1. WEDNESDAY MORNING COFFEE: Every Wednesday, at 10 am.
Come and catch up on the news, be a taste tester of the baking and have
many laughs. Everyone is welcome.
2. PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING UP TO GREET on a Sunday morning
on the clipboard at the rear of the church.
You are helping to make our congregation feel welcome to
our worship service. Thank you.
3. REFRESHMENTS FOLLOWING SUNDAY SERVICE: Thank you to all
our volunteers for making this time of fellowship extra special with coffee
and treats. If you are able, please speak to Cathy or sign up on the sheet
where coffee is served. Thank you!
4. COMMUNICATION TEAM: The Dorchester United Church
Communication Team strives to get messages out to church members and to the
community in an efficient and meaningful manner. This team includes 14
representatives from our church. We encourage you to send information about
upcoming events to the team coordinator for distribution to team members. A
useful template is available on the DUC website and a copy is posted on the
bulletin board in the lower level of the church.
Cathy Baskerville, acting DUC Communication Team Coordinator
5. THE PROPERTY COMMITTEE has been changing light bulbs in
the sanctuary on a very old, unstable wooden ladder. We value the members
of this committee and, for safety reasons, a new fiberglass ladder, which
has been priced at approximately $450, is needed. For more details, please
talk to Bob, Ernie, George or Wayne.
6. CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: Thank you for your support of this
successful fundraiser. A delicious chili lunch was served, many vendors
attended and the bake sale was a huge success! We send out a big thank you
to Heather Elmhirst and Lenora Broomfield for organizing this day. We had
lots of fun and the net gain for the day was $1260.82. Large ($8) and small
($4) frozen fruit pies are still available.
