has been changing light bulbs in the sanctuary on a very old, unstable

reasons, a new fiberglass ladder, which has been priced at approximately
$450, is needed. For more details, please talk to Bob, Ernie, George or
Wayne.

SOX IN THE BOX
is making a return in memory of the late Herb Summers. Herb loved Christmas

to collect boxes of new socks to be donated in our community and to area
shelters. Please find donation boxes at the back of the sanctuary and at
the east door throughout the season.

photographs will be made at our events and anyone is welcome to decline
having their picture posted.

Keep them coming! Cans can be dropped off at Ernie Reid's, 4356 Hamilton
Road or left at the rear of the sanctuary.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION:
As of the end of November 2019, our weekly offerings are down from this
time last year by 10.7%. In order to help support and sustain exciting new
ideas and programs like those mentioned above, your DUC Board trusts that
you will give prayerful thought to generously supporting through weekly and
special offerings. Christmas offering envelopes can be found in the pews and at the back of the
sanctuary. Many thanks for your financial contributions!
9. CE (Christian Education) Facilitator
- we are excited to welcome Ashley Barran, who will be leading our children
in learning on Sunday mornings. Ashley grew up in Dorchester, and is
currently in her 3rd year at Wilfrid Laurier University in the Youth and
Children's Studies Program. She has extensive experience with children of
all ages, having worked with the well-known summer Dorchester Playground
program as well as Brownies and Girl Guides. She hopes to become a primary
teacher and is excited to have this opportunity to share her love for
children and their eagerness to learn. Please give Ashley a warm Dorchester
United Church welcome. This initiative is made possible by funding received
by DUC from a United Church Council Grant.
10. EXCITING HAPPENINGS FOR THE YOUNG AND YOUNG AT HEART AT DUC: We are so excited
about the new initiatives and happenings at our church! Ashley Barran, an
energetic Christian Education Facilitator, is joining us to work with the
children on Sunday mornings. We have already hosted 3 Messy Church
events and we are invited to come with our Teddy Bears and
in our favourite pyjamas on Christmas Eve.
