ANNOUNCEMENTS MARCH 8, 2020
Please join us for a time of refreshments and fellowship in the lower level of the sanctuary following the service.
1. WEDNESDAY MORNING COFFEE: Every Wednesday, at 10 am. Come and catch up on the news, be a taste tester of the baking and have many laughs. Everyone is welcome.
2. PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING UP TO GREET on a Sunday morning on the clipboard at the rear of the church. You are helping to make our congregation feel welcome to our worship service. Thank you.
3. DUC BOARD MEETING - Minutes of FEB 19, 2020 are now posted on bulletin board in lower meeting room. If you are interested in receiving a printed copy, please leave a phone message for DUC Admin Assistant. Your copy will be available in the church office door mail slot door the following week.
4. MINISTRY & PERSONNEL (M&P) COMMITTEE meeting on Thurs. March 12 at 6:00 p.m.
5. LENTEN LUNCHEON SERIES are Thursdays, at 11:30 am.
If you wish to help with set-up, cleanup, main dish preparation or dessert, please contact Janet Paterson.
6. AN IRISH STEW LUNCHEON will be provided during the Fellowship Hour after Sunday Service on March 15. Your donation for the yummy stew, rolls and dessert is very much appreciated and will go to the General Fund.
7. TRIVIA NIGHT AT DUC: SATURDAY, MARCH 21, 2020
Come for an enjoyable social evening where four heads are better than one! Bring a team of 4 or join a table upon arrival. Doors open at 6:30 and Trivia starts at 7 pm. A variety of quality questions, great prizes, and light refreshments are provided. For tickets ($20 Adult, $10 Student). Call 519-461-1679 or email ductickets@hotmail.com to reserve your table. Everyone is welcome. Please contact Cathy if you are able to contribute something as a door prize or for our winner's basket.
8. TUESDAY, MARCH 17 - 12:00 NOON: Irish Stew Luncheon at Reynolds Creek, followed by a fun afternoon of progressive euchre. The cost is $7.00/person, payable at the door. Please RSVP to Joyce (519-485-1939) if you plan to attend.
9. WEDNESDAYS IN LENT - 6:00-7:15 p.m.
Midweek Lenten Services at Belmont United Church. We gather for a light supper at 6:00 p.m., followed by a brief worship service beginning at 6:45. This year's theme, "The Fruits of the Spirit," is based on Galatians 5:22-25, and the preaching schedule is as follows: March 4 - David Dillon (Love); March 11 - Janine Lunn, (Joy and Peace); March 18 - Mary Dillon (Patience); April 1 - Jim Paterson (Faithfulness), and April 8 - Karlene Kimber (Gentleness and Self-Control). All welcome!
10. SPRING CONCERT: The Thames Centre Community Choir will present "Earth, Sky, Sea" on Friday, April 3, 7 pm at DUC. Tickets are $15 and available from choir members or calling 519-461-1679 or emailing tickets@tccchoir.ca. Please join us for an enjoyable evening of music.
11. EASTER BREAKFAST: The men will organize and serve this breakfast at 8:30 on Sunday, April 12. Your donations will be most welcome and will go to the Church Benevolent Fund.
12. PLEASE JOIN US FOR OUR ANNUAL HAM AND OYSTER SUPPER ON FRIDAY, APRIL 17. Enjoy a hardy meal of scalloped potatoes, ham, baked beans, coleslaw, dinner rolls and dessert. Seafood lovers can look forward to our delicious homemade oyster soup. Adults $20, Children 6 to 15 $10, Children 5 & under are free.
