WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP

Looking at where we have come from, we dream of where we could be next.
Our future is filled with possibility.
Let us commit ourselves to life in God's realm.
We live in a place of abundance.
May we share our resources with those who have come among us.
May our worship reflect the dreams that we share.

OPENING PRAYER (IN UNISON)
God is made known to us in creation, in the vast geography of this land, in the pioneers of our faith. In our country today, we see many faces and hear many languages spoken. We gather as a community to reflect on our past as a people. We offer thanks for the challenges that have helped to shape our lives. Show us how the lessons of the past can make us into people with a vision. Awaken us to the new life that awaits us. In the name of Jesus who taught us to pray . . . . AMEN

HYMN: "Teach me God to Wonder" V.U. 299

TIME WITH THE CHILDREN: David Epp

SERVICE OF LIGHTING THE CANDLE
The morning bright awakens us to new light.
We rejoice in the light of God's new day.

ANTHEM "Fly Away Medley"

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (In Unison)
O God most Holy, we magnify Your Name. There are voices calling us away from You. We struggle to stay on the path of true faith. Show us how to face the hard truths of life, the ones we shrink from daily. Usher us into Your forgiving presence that we may find the grace and the peace to live as those who have been forgiven. AMEN

WORDS OF ASSURANCE
The brokenness of this world cannot compare to the grace You so lavishly offer. God in Jesus has taught us how to receive what we have not earned.

WE HEAR GOD'S LOVING WORD FOR US

FIRST TESTAMENT READING: Second Kings 17: 24-29, 32-34

GOSPEL READING: Luke 10: 30-35

MESSAGE "And Who is my Neighbour?"

David Epp, Canadian Food Grains Bank

RESPONSE: V.U. 400

PASTORAL PRAYER

WE RESPOND TO GOD'S WORD IN FAITH AND ACTION

HYMN: " Now thank we all our God" V.U. 236

OFFERING INVITATION

OFFERTORY RESPONSE: For food . . .

OFFERTORY PRAYER: Because Jesus has come among us, we know how much we have been loved. It is love that has brought us to this place to offer these gifts. We offer them up in His name and for His sake. AMEN

HYMN: "For the Fruit of All Creation" V.U. 227

COMMISSIONING AND BLESSING

POSTLUDE LicenSing #620168

We live in a world of such rich abundance. Why do so many millions have to go hungry?
