CALL TO WORSHIP
:
At times, the road of life can be a dry, lonely place.
A lonely road we travel, always on the lookout for signs of danger and
signs of hope.
With open arms, we are welcomed into God's house, finding a repreive from
the road and its hazards.
We delight as we reconnect with each other and celebrate the bounty God
showers upon us as we worship today.

CREED
:
We are not alone,
we live in God's world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
c
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,

SCRIPTURE READING: John 12:1-8 (NRSV)
MARY ANOINTS JESUS
Six days before the Passover Jesus came to Bethany, the home of Lazarus,
whom he had raised from the dead. >There they
gave a dinner for him. Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those at the
table with him. Mary took a pound of costly
perfume made of pure nard, anointed Jesus' feet, and wiped them with her
hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume. But Judas
Iscariot, one of his disciples (the one who was about to betray him), said,
"Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denariiand the
money given to the poor?"(He said this not
because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief; he kept the
common purse and used to steal what was put into it.)Jesus said, "Leave her alone. She bought it so that she might keep it for the day of my burial. You always have the poor with you, but you do
not always have me."
