TRINITY SUNDAY, JUNE 11, 2017

Dorchester United Church

Wherever you are, whoever you are, Join us in our Journey!

WE GATHER TO PRAISE GOD

MUSIC PRELUDE

HYMN: "Holy, Holy, Holy" V.U. 315

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

CALL TO WORSHIP:

Come to this place where refuge is found.
God be among us as we join together.
Come to this place where peace is proclaimed.
Christ be among us as we listen for your Word.
Come to this place where faith is empowered.
Spirit be among us as we seek inspiration.
Come to this place where the Triune God is met.
Three-in-One, One-in-Three, be among us as we worship you.
Dianne Bennett-Jones Wexford Heights U.C., Scarborough

OPENING PRAYER (in unison)

Holy One-in-Three, Three-in-One, we come today to worship you and to seek to more fully understand the interrelationships among the three persons or elements of the Holy Trinity. It is in exploring these interrelationships that we will better come to understand our own interrelationships both within our own selves and our faith lives, as well as our lives and living with others in true community. Help us to be illuminated and to gain insight today, dispelling our confusion and fears, our sense of being alone, when we know in our hearts that we are truly all one in You. Amen.

We continue to pray with the words that Jesus taught us to pray, speaking together THE LORD'S PRAYER

HYMN: "All Things Bright and Beautiful" V.U. 291

HYMN: "Touch the Earth Lightly" V.U. 307

PASTORAL PRAYER:

OFFERING INVITATION:

OFFERTORY RESPONSE: Grant us, God, the grace of giving, with a spirit large and free, that ourselves and all our living we may offer faithfully. V.U. 540

OFFERTORY PRAYER: Thank you God, for the many gifts that you have given us, the complexity of which we are often too preoccupied or confused to truly see. Today as we have pondered the meaning of Trinity and relationships, help us to see that in giving we are really sharing that which is already yours, that which we are called to offer up freely to create and sustain in your Good Creation. Amen.

HYMN: "We Are Pilgrims" V.U 595

COMMISSIONING: We go out into the world to face the challenges and conflicts, the worst that the world can throw at us and at those of the fringes. But we know that Christ, the Holy Spirit and God are with us each and every step of the way, in every struggle, in every challenge, in every issue survived, and in every triumph. Even when we cannot fully overcome challenges, the Trinity is still with us, loving us, supporting us and encouraging us. Celebrate this community of which you are a part with each breath that you take. Praise be to the Three-in-One! Amen.
