for school. Vacationers head home. It is the beginning of a new season.
Welcome us home, Lord.
Welcome us to you, Lord. Welcome us into these fall months of activity.
Welcome us into your house of worship. Welcome us into your company.
Let us worship. It is a new season for us and the Lord.
OPENING PRAYER
Loving God, today we gather to raise our voices to you in songs of praise
and promise; of hope and renewal. Gladden our hearts as we sing these old,
familiar melodies and the deeply felt and remembered lyrics from our life
in the church. Bless all who have requested these songs, and bless us in
the playing and the singing of them. Bless us in our shared journey of
faith as we proclaim the good news of Jesus the Christ in word and in song.
