CALL TO WORSHIP
Christ is alive. He is risen from the dead.
The Holy One calls us to worship and praise.
Baptized with the power of the Holy Spirit,
we live with Christ in our hearts.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION:
Lord of love and hope, we come to you this day with so many things in our
hearts. For some today is a day of celebration of motherhood; for others
the focus is on the family; but for some family brings back painful
memories of hurt, alienation, abandonment. Forgive us when we think that
our celebration and our joy should be everyone's joy and celebration. Help
us to be aware of the needs of others for whom this is not a happy time.
Let us look for ways of providing ministries of healing love and nurturing
hope; for we ask this in Christ's Name. Amen.
WORDS OF ASSURANCE:
As a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wing for protection and
safety, so God gathers us into the family of faith. May God's love shine on
you, in you and through you this day. Amen.
