As we walk the long road of Advent
Eager in the hope of the season,
Remind us to take time to pause.
Pause to find peace in the anticipation.
To find Joy, Hope, and Love,
Amidst the wonder and excitement.
Enjoying the simple, that will continue to fill us as we eagerly await
the one who comes to save.
PASSING OF THE PEACE-
The Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God, and the Fellowship

PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
We are not alone,
we live in God's world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
Thanks be to God.

The Proclamation of John the Baptist
In the fifteenth year of the reign of Emperor Tiberius, when Pontius Pilate
was governor of Judea, and Herod was ruler of Galilee, and his brother
Philip rulerof the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and
Lysanias rulerof Abilene, during the high priesthood of Annas
and Caiaphas, the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the
wilderness. He went into all the region around
the Jordan, proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of
sins,as it is written in the book of the words
of the prophet Isaiah,
"The voice of one crying out in the wilderness:
'Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made
low, and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways made
smooth; and all flesh shall see the salvation of God.'"
