Wherever you are, whoever you are,
Join us in our Journey!

HYMN : "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling" V.U. 333

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

CALL TO WORSHIP
Welcome to our Sunday service of worship.
We have each travelled different pathways to be together today.
Some of our journeys have been on the straight and narrow road,
While others have entailed rough spots, tripping hazards and at times, roadblocks.
We thank you, dear God, for being with us each and every step of the way,
For surrounding us with your love, for protecting us, and for supporting us when we have fallen.
Praise be to God! Thanks be to God! Come and let us worship our Lord and our Creator!
HYMN: " We have this Ministry" V.U. 510

A PRAYER OF APPROACH:
Loving Creator, we come before you humbly, today, as sojourners walking our often difficult and winding way through this life. We are all travelling a pathway that is filled with bumps, rough spots and, at times, roadblocks, when we cannot clearly see our way ahead. We thank you for your Holy Word which provides us with a road map, guide, and direction. We thank you for the love, prayers and kindnesses which you inspire in your people so that we can reach out and support each other, including those outside of walls. Thank you for the love, support, visits and cards and kind words shared over the past 8 months especially. They have been so very welcome and effective. Help us to continue to be loving, outward-looking community of Christian believers.

SUNG RESPONSE :
Search me, O God, and know my heart today,
Try me, O Saviour, know my thoughts, I pray;
See if there be some brokenness in me;
Cleanse me from every wrong, and set me free.

SERVICE OF LIGHTING THE CANDLE :
Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
Jesus is our friend who loves us always.

SCRIPTURE READINGS :

READING: 1 John 4: 7-21

RESPONSIVE PSALM : Psalm 22: 25-31 (V.U. 746, parts 3 & 4)

READING: John 15: 1- 8

This is the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Thanks be to God!
