Wherever you are, whoever you are, Join us in our Journey!

WE GATHER TO PRAISE GOD

MUSIC PRELUDE

HYMN: "Spirit of God, Descend Upon my Heart" V.U. 378

WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS:

CALL TO WORSHIP:

We come today seeking guidance,

ways in which we can live our Jesus' abiding love.

Just as the early disciples felt lost and abandoned after Christ's crucifixion,

so too do we often feel at a loss as to how to move forward.

We come today seeking this Advocate of which Jesus speaks,
One who will literally inspire us and guide us from within,

if only we will truly believe. This Advocate, this Spirit which Jesus promised to send will soon descend upon the disciples as a rushing wind and a burning flame; Let us, true believers in Jesus, truly live out the power of our calling, ignited by the Spirit of God, descended upon our hearts.

OPENING PRAYER (in unison)

Loving God, today in our opening hymn and call to worship we have asked you to give us strength to replace our weakness, hope to replace our doubt, and light to replace those dark places in our hearts and minds where thoughts and feelings that are not worthy of we who call ourselves Christians. We seek for your love, yearn for your comforting presence and pray for your peace. Give us strong, lasting faith so that we might weather all storms, face all obstacles and remain faithful to the Way of Jesus, each and every day. In Your son's Holy name we pray, Amen.

We continue to pray with the words that Jesus taught us to pray, saying together: THE LORD'S PRAYER
