Dorchester United Church SUNDAY, MARCH 1, 2020 6th Lent 1 WE GATHER TO PRAISE GOD
ACKNOWLEGEMENT OF THE LAND
We pay our respect to the original caretakers of the land by acknowledging
that we live and worship on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabek,
Haudenosaunee, Lūnaapéewak, and Attawandaron peoples.
(We invite you to quiet reflection and preparation for worship)
CALL TO WORSHIP:
Come, faithful people, and find that quiet centre
Where God may enter in,
We gather as God's people
hungry for holy presence,
ready for God's Word to us.
Let us worship God.
PASSING OF THE PEACE The peace of the Lord be always with you. And also with you.
CHILDREN'S TIME LIGHTING OF THE CHRIST CANDLE
Jesus Christ is the light of the world.
Jesus is our friend who loves us always LORD'S PRAYER
PSALM 32: V.U. 759
PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND ASSURANCE OF PARDON:
We are not alone,
we live in God's world.
We believe in God:
who has created and is creating,
who has come in Jesus,
the Word made flesh,
to reconcile and make new,
who works in us and others
by the Spirit.
We trust in God.
We are called to be the Church:
to celebrate God's presence,
to live with respect in Creation,
to love and serve others,
to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen,
our judge and our hope.
In life, in death, in life beyond death,
God is with us.
We are not alone.
